RV Living: Sanctuary on Wheels
Amongst an ever-changing world
Existed a young buck
Who desired a tiny pocket of safety
A home to return to after a day of running amuck
This person desired more than a home
They wanted one on wheels
The ability to bring shelter, food, and friends
A place to love, grow and feel
A container home didn’t work
That was their first attempt
Plans went astray when a partner in crime
Started looking at dreams with contempt
So back to the drawing board they went
Still craving freedom and safety
Unwilling to go the “conventional route”
Just wanted a roof for them and the fur babies
“Conventional” meaning
A house with a 30-year mortgage and a picket white fence
More focus on the experience
Less worry around big house contents
No care for the latest curtain details
Or weekly appointments to mow the lawn
More important to engage in human connection
And spend time in nature sunrise to dawn
No more time wasted
Things were moving at a staggering slow rate
The whole globe shut down
Masks became the hottest debate
The details weren’t planned out
Instead, they took a leap of faith
Biggest purchase ever made
Not doing it would have been the only wraith
Without the answers lined up
Like where to put it or where to next
First option ok, second too much,
Third had all of the right specs
Pulled the trigger
Signed the loan
Did a happy dance
Stepping into the unknown
First stop financing
Second stop where to park
Third choice what’s next
Fourth who else wants to embark
More questions than answers
A reflection of the nature of this existence
They will get where they are going
With love, truth, and persistence
